Challenging clouds today but managed some solar data. Lunt 60DS with Zwo Asi 178mm. False colour added in PS CS2. To many clouds to take Cak with the new Cak scope. Spent two hours chasing clouds and managed the data in the last 15mins, typical. Challenging getting even illumination because of the clouds. Not the best but at least it's something.

Looking at your amazing set up I can now see why I can't get any were near , I said I wanted an HA scope the wife said over her dead body , I got to go and now dig a hole

All my gear is second hand so 50% less of the cost. In fact my double stack 60 mm Lunt was £2,000. They cost new £5,000 + who could afford new. Also I was lucky enough to get good etchalons that compliment one another.

You can start with a baader Ca-K filter around £250. Particularly if you've already got a refractor. This is what I get using my 80ed and baader Ca-K filter. It shows the line's of falculie and spots plus granulation very well.

Thats amazing at the moment i have the besser 127 /1200 and the lacerta 2 inch wedge and use polarizing filter and continuum filter

Baader-Cak filter is brilliant so much better than the continuum. It's more towards the violet/ultra violet spectrum. Only imaging wise, our eyes can't see much visually in that range.
