This is my first attempt to image a double star - 80 Tau, part of the Hyades open cluster.

8.1 and 5.6 mag, 1.5" separation

8.75" Fullerscope, APM 2.7x barlow, Altair 290m, R, G, B captures each 2000 frames with best 30% stacked.

Green channel image shows the star occupying 6 pixels across, at 0.16" per pixel that gives an airy disk diameter of 0.96"

I think I’m going to have a look at this one tonight - it’s meant to be tricky visually. Are you going to try imaging Sirius Craig?

Mark

Yes Mark it's on my to do list, tricky to get the scope on it with all the houses around me although there is one spot in my front garden where
I can look straight down the street.
