Great start Mike, I remember back to my days of hand holding a camera to the eyepiece, it was great to see instant results. Onwards and upwards, the expense starts now .... :(

You could try cropping out some of the blank area in the image to improve the presentation a bit.

You can see the chromatic aberration introduced by the afocal method's use of too much glass.

The CA is probably down to atmospheric refraction more than the optics. I imaged Venus the other day and the atmosphere was smearing the image significantly wiht CA.
