Delta Ursae Majoris

Hi, I'm new to this but a good friend of mine got me star gazing. Have noticed this evening when viewing "the big dipper" that it didn't all seem to line up correctly. I have immaculate clear skies and can clearly make out the bulk of the constellation. However, Delta Ursae Maoris isn't appearing. I've really tried to focus In and best I can get is a "twinkle". Wondering if anyone else having same experience and confused as to why I can't see it! Look forward to some expertise!

There are occasional reports of this star, Megrez, being fainter or invisible. It’s the faintest of the Dipper stars so is the first to be lost if conditions are not good, e.g poor transparency/ light pollution.
