Not done much imaging recently - very busy with work - decided to clean the sensor filter on my 350D as was covered in muck and give it a quick test. Conditions seemed to be best in the NE area of sky , so decided to image M109. Surprisingly I have never imaged this object before.

15 X 4mins , C9.25 at F6.3 , Canon 350d at 800 ISO.

Hope to have new imaging kit soon.

John

Hello John, I had a go last year at this and it is a lovely big bright shapely galaxy and you went wide enough to get the small elongated companion galaxy - good result. JohnH.

Thanks for that , just to the upper right of M106 is NGC 4248 and the pair further right ( close to the edge) are upper NGC 4231 , lower NGC 4232 and below the galaxy is UGC 7356.

John
