Jupiter Moon + GRS transit tonight (25th Nov)

Nice Mark

Jupiter is now more or less impossible to observe from my back garden due to its current positioning, unfortunately. Saturn is not much better :rolleyes2:

Have to turn my attention to non-planetary observing as Mars recedes I think.

Thanks for the post Mark. I’m pretty much the same as John, it’s too tricky from home so I have t observed these two for a while. I need to find somewhere suitable nearby for the conjunction on 21st December though, can’t miss that if it’s clear.

I am thinking the same.

Jupiter and Saturn are doable early on but sinking fast below my various obstructions and often with poor seeing. Not sure if the December conjunction will be possible. I do still enjoy a low mag view of Saturn though - a little jewel.

Mars is also shrinking and lately there always seems to be fairly poor seeing despite its altitude.

So it's winter wonders time again methinks
