So, just to let everyone who was kind enough to reply...I have almost certainly made my mind up thank to your great advice and info.

- Mod my 4000d

- better tripod

- CLS-CCD filter (most likely skytech brand..maybe Astonimik)

- If i can find one in stock, a ZWO cam to use as a guide cam.
