Not the best of nights, but still great!

My 19 year old grandson is about to move out to go back up near his girlfriend's mother and his parents too!

Thinking the chances were getting few, I got them and SWMBO to the observatory. 

I let them see Jupiter and the 4 Galilean moons. The equatorial bands would come in and out of view as it moved through the eyepiece. 

Saturn was about the same, two of its moons visible. 

Mars showed little detail being still low in the sky, but was clearly a planet.

Before they went back in I turned to Andromeda, letting them see the bright core.

Also pointed out Cassiopeia and the great square of pegasus. 

As much as I like the idea of being back in control of my house and life, it felt so good getting them to look at the heavens above us.

Cant wait to do the same for my 10 Y/O grand daughter and 7 Y/O grandson.
