Can you use 2" filters for imaging with DSLR?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am new to astrophotography and I plan to start soon. I currently own a f/5 8inch Skywatcher Newtonian.

I intend to buy a nikon/canon camera,  possibly Nikon D3300(any suggestions on this are welcome). My budget is like 250$ for the camera and hence I am buying a second hand DSLR in excellent condition.

Coming to the main topic, I was wondering if I should be using only clip on filters with the DSLR or if I could use the 2" filter attached to one of the barrels of eyepiece/adapters before attaching the the t ring and then DSLR?
