thing
Managed to get 56 mins. Am I the only person here who likes open clusters? I think I'm the only guy who does them. Apart from the M45 people of course. And I've just noticed JSG's M44 and M35. Curse my inattention.A quick process, too near sleepy time......(click to enlarge)
FLO
Funny you should say that, I just posted elsewhere that I like shots of starfields, open clusters too. I hope your image encourages others
jonbarr87
Well they are great for observing... But most photographers (astro and non) tend to go for the "wow" factor....
barkis
I'm with Steve here, Open Clusters are splendid objects in my book. This is a very capture Thing. Theres a whole bunch of them sprinkling the Milky Way. Ron.
johnh
You carry on with the clusters and m38 is a fantastic target, Auriga has 3 M cluster beauties. Your image has captured hundreds of stars with this dense cluster and m38 fits nicely - its a winner!JohnH.
MartinB
I love M38, one of my favourite clusters and quite ethereal visually. Very hard to capture anything like the view you get through the scope. You've got a whole bundle of nice tight stars there Dave
jgs001
Dave I'm with you. My gear works really well for open clusters and less well for other things. So... I capture open clusters. Besides I like them too. Good M38, you just missed off the side of the Smiley Face there, I reckon you got half of him.
