Crescent moon and Venus from North Cornwall 14-10-20

Here are my obligatory poor photos of the crescent moon & Venus close together whilst I was getting ready for work this morning, taken with my canon 450d, one is slightly more overexposed to show the darker part of the moon, I'm still learning but happy so far with this

Nice photos! If you want to capture the Earthshine you need slightly longer exposure. I used 1/2 sec at 200 ISO with Canon 250d. The sky becomes brighter as well. This was from 7am on Tuesday:

Actually with longer exposures you can even see the mares on the dark part. But then the rest is blown out. For best results one can do a composite shot.
