Common names in Skychart software

I have looked at a previous answer for this topic, i.e. Setup > Display > Labels > Common Name but still only get the number of a star. I really need the common names to be shown. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? It is the latest version of Skychart.

P.S. It has been a while since I have got back to astronomy interest, my telescope is still in the box after moving from Scotland to Cumbria (South Lakes). So please be gentle with me.

Do you mean cartes du ciel?

if so its setup/disply/labels/ label object stars magnitude difference I changed mine to 4 and increased the label text size, then its down to your zoom amount I think.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is Cartes Du Ciel. I did what you suggested and still get HD numbers. At a loss as to what to do. I had this software a few years ago and don't remember having this problem.

Hi its worked on mine fiddle with the settings remember not all have common names

Just done it some more now mag diff down to 2 and more stars are named

It does seem to depend on your zoom level too
