Pleiades M45

First attempt at the Pleiades after taking my first image ever in June. 

 

As always keen on receiving CC (I am not happy with the star field). This is 75 minutes (15 x 5 minutes) using a modified Canon 800d and SW ED80, no filter. Stacked and calibrated in APP and processed in PS CS6.

Super image, nebulosity is showing very well.

What mount did you use? For 5 minute exposures the starfield looks beautiful and sharp. I would be overjoyed with that image.

For my Pleiades I went with 100s of really short exposures.  (45 seconds).  I find with longer exposures you tend to lose the stars and the dust still comes through with shorter subs. Those 7 sisters are mega bright and long subs seem to cause them to bloat/get lost or surface halos
