Synscan app on Android

Hi

Has anyone else had problems / success getting the Synscan Pro app working after upgrading to Android 11? I'm using a Pixel 2 and since getting the OS update the app just shows the logo and then disappears.

Is it possible to connect Sky Safari directly to the Synscan WiFi without the Synscan app? No connection setting combinations I have tried work...

I only use it for polar alignment, but it wouldn't run this evening for me after the update to Android 11 today.

You can't connect sky safari to the mount without synscan app.

Ok thanks I didn't think it would be possible. I tried contacting the app developers but no reply yet, will have to locate an older device in the meantime!

Same here. Just got my scope in this week and was unable to get the app downloaded to my Pixel 3 with Android 11. Was able to download just fine on old Moto G5

You don't say which version of Synscan Pro you're using? The Google Play Store only goes to ver. 1.17.0. If that's your version, the 1.19.0 apk is available on the Sky-Watcher website. That may or may not help...

Hi

Thanks, I missed this message and I had an email from Skywatcher support today with that link to v1.19.10 on their site, which seems to be working for me.

They mentioned that "due to  technical issue, we cannot release updates on Google Play. Users with Pixel 2,  Pixel 3 report the latest update can work with Android 11. But some user with Pixel 4 reported not working"

I'll give it a test drive later
