Eyepiece advice

Recommended Posts

@pastiche

I have the same Dob, and I use a 17mm and 15mm wide angle 1.25" eyepieces, as my first choice when viewing planets and other DSO, when out doing presentation in primary schools and scout groups with my club, and give good eye relief as well

The Dob would had come with a 10mm and 25mm eyepieces

Using a 2 X barlow, with the 25mm, will give you equivalent of 12.5mm

Use the 25mm to view the moon, as a larger eyepiece, will not allow you to fit in the entire moon

You can also use a lunar filter, to reduce the glare from the moon as well

The attached pic is of my 10" flex dob, taken at a club public viewing day

Have also included my ED80 on a EQ5pro mount, showing eyepiece case I have put together, with eyepieces, adaptors
