Wanted - Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro / NEQ6 Pro or Similar

Recommended Posts

I know it may be a bit of a long shot but I'm looking to buy a HEQ5 Pro mount or an NEQ6 Pro or something similar. Preferably belt driven but not necessary as can happily modify it. Please let me know if you have anything! Thanks.

Hello friend, im Emanuel, from Portugal, and im selling my Ioptron IEQ 45 Pro for 1100 pounds. It has case for the equatorial head, and as a bonus i inlude bag for the tripod, bag for the two counterweights, and adapter for the Polemaster. The mount has very nice features, such as GPS included, RA balancing feature by software, PEC, iluminated polar finder and many other features. If youre interested, send me a message and can send you some pictures. Cheers :)

Looking forward to receiving my 102MC in the next few days/weeks depending on supply. Does anyone have any experience, tips/advice?  Looks like a good grab and go particularity for planetary observation - interesting “next generation” mount.

      Hi everyone,
I'm completely new to telescopes and know nothing but I want to learn and I need some advice!
I have a budget of £200 which I can't stretch. I really like both the Skywatcher Heritage 150p and SW Skyliner 150p which I believe has been along longer than the Heritage.
I would like to take the scope out occasionally to dark skies (so the heritage would be easier to transport) but with 2 very young children at home the reality is that I will mostly be using the scope in the back garden.
Obviously both scopes are 150p but come with different accessory spec (specs below).... please could someone advise which would give me the most bang for my buck?!

      Heritage 150p:
      Magnifications (with eyepieces supplied): x30 & x75
      Highest Practical Power (Potential): x300
      Diameter of Primary Mirror: 150mm
      Telescope Focal Length: 750mm (f/5)
      Eyepieces Supplied (1.25"): 10mm & 25mm
      Parabolic Primary Mirror
      3-arm Secondary Mirror Spider Support
      Red Dot Finder
      Wooden Alt-Azimuth Mount
      Collapsible/ Extendable Tube Assembly
      Weight Approx 7.5kg
      Supplied with Gift Box
33% more Light Gathering than 130mm
      Skyliner 150p:
Magnifications (with eyepieces supplied): x48 & x120 Highest Practical Power (Potential): x306 Diameter of Primary Mirror: 153mm Telescope Focal Length: 1200mm (f/8) Eyepieces Supplied (1.25"): 10mm & 25mm Parabolic Primary Mirror 0.5mm Ultra-Thin Secondary Mirror Supports 6x30 Finderscope Direct SLR Camera Connection Wooden Alt-Azimuth Mount with Accessory Tray 73% more Light Gathering than 114mm Many thanks!

Is anyone here controlling a Vixen SP2 (SB One) with an external computer for GoTo, etc. (for AP use)?  Is it even possible?  I have been unable to find any references to it. I see Vixen mounts suggested as fine, but expensive mounts and references to SB Ten providing GoTo capabilities but nothing to suggest it’s doable with the “simpler” version.

I’m  looking for my first solid mount to do photography with a 70-80mm refractor. Starting with a mirrorless APC camera and eventually a cooled mono camera. I’ve been considering mounts I can move in and outdoors relatively easily. This mount and the HEQ-5 are the two I’m looking at most seriously at this time. The local market (western Canada) for used mounts seems to have dried up during recent times, so new is what I’m looking at. (Vixen because of their “it’s already fiddled and should just work” reputation and the HEQ-5 because it’s well known with fixes and mods well defined. (It’s also more affordable by a fair margin here.)

Looking to buy either an NEQ6 or a HEQ5 mount.  Im in Cheshire but dont mind paying for delivery/postage.  Would consider a good imaging scope or setup too.

      Thanks.

      Pete
