Hi.

I have not posted in this forum in a long while.

One unguided Ha image of the Orion nebula was all I got for the 2018 and 2019 season, after first managing to burn the motor drivers of my Celestron AVX.

2020 has been good so far. Managing a couple small projects in springtime, and now imaging remotely again.

This image could use some more data, but as a 'get back in the game' project, I'm pretty happy. Might do a reprocess later, when I get 'used' to PixInsight after not using it for a while.

Image collected with the ASI 1600mmc at -20C using 300 gain, and 50 offset.

Total of 3h and 20min, 1h 41min Ha and 1h 39min O3

Pixelmath is 1x Ha for R, 0.8x O3 + 0.2x Ha for G, 1.1x O3 for B

It was just going to be a test for when I was waiting for the ElephantTrunkNebula to get a little lower than the Azimuth. My mount has a hard time guiding at that altitude. Now I have more data on the Crescent than the Elephant due to weather.

Hope to get more on both, as they are really nice objects.

Managed to get some more data on the Crescent :)

This is now at 4h 14minutes total, with 137minutes Ha and 117minutes O3.

I also did a reprocess of this new image. Sharpening up the nebula a bit, and dimming some starts ++

To me it looks a lot better than v1, but I like to hear what you think.
