The Moon and Mars this morning

 I woke up his morning to a cloudy sky but there was a gap where the Moon was showing with a red Mars next to it. I grabbed my camera and just made the shot handheld through an open window before the cloud rolled in.

Processed in Gimp to sharpen, de-noise and add more blue to the sky.

The conjunction was very nice this morning.

Lucky for me, I worked yesterday and had today off. Normally it's just the opposite.

The moon and Mars will be very close tomorrow Thursday, 29th Oct at around 20:00 GMT when viewed from the UK.  Get your cameras out

Nice, just think as you look at that, the huge challenge of getting a manned mission there. Puts it into perspective. Love to see it in my lifetime, though I'm not too optimistic 😒
