Radio astronomy

Anyone involved in amateur radio astronomy? I'm wondering if there are any phenomena detectable in the 20-50MHz range.

I'm not thinking of taking it up - it's actually research for a science fiction story!

The nearest I ever get to it is sitting wating the radio telescope at Jodrell bank, have to say that has to be one of my favourite places ever. May be worth emailing the astronomy unit at manchester university.
