Vega
Well im back from Oz after 3 amazing weeks holiday down under. Couldn't resist snapping the Southern Cross.. No tracking unfortunately so just a tripod, point and shoot jobby. One thing that pleased me the most was seeing Orion upside-down almost reach the zenith! M42 looked soo bright in bins. Sirius was actually bang on the zenith by 10:30pm with other bright stars like Betelgeuse, Procyon, Canopus lighting up the sky like a Christmas tree (excuse the pun). Of course Venus stole the early evening show every time... stays higher up the sky at night in Brisbane due to the angle of the ecliptic. thing
Lovely shots Matt. I'm off to Bris in July, got my binos and tripod out there permanently but I've just bought a 28 mil lens for the camera so I'll be boring everyone to death with southern sky widefields when I get back....
