Yes, at the mo I see nothing to tempt me away from AA7. I'm sure APP is good software, but the presentation was all about the new comet stacking.

This Sunday at 7:30 we are joined by Mabula Haverkamp the lead developer and founder of Astro Pixel Processor (APP)  https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/. APP was launched in 2017 and is in continuous

APP is simply fantastic and the personal support by Mabula himself is second to none.

Been a while since I was here, but in the mean time I became the moderator on the APP forum and am helping Mabula in his business. So much fun meeting you all, I had a blast in London at Astrofest as

I missed the live presentation due to other commitments but will catch up on the recording. I am a user of APP and still getting to grips with it.

Gav, why do we need to wait for another comet, do you not have some subs ‘in the can’?  I tried to create an aligned comet and stars composite in PI, but without success.

I do have some NEOWISE data that I would use, but I shot it knowing that it is a hassle to process long total exposure times of a comet. Having good comet & stars software would influence the way I shoot new data. I tried the two stack combo with DSS for Wirtanen (I think it was that one) and it was sort of OK, but drove me completely potty! And who doesn’t love a bright comet with a huge long tail or two?!?!

I use APP since 2018 and am very pleased with it. Setting up a deep-sky processing action takes me now some 15 minutes, even when processing 40+ hours of data in LRGB,Ha,Oiii,Sii, after which the rest goes automatically during the following hours. After the stacks have been completed I need a few minutes for the RGB combine and then some time to enhance the image. That latter part is partially done in APP and partially in PSP and takes of course quite a bit of time. The past few days Mabula and I have been in contact regarding the new comet stacking option and the first results he showed me of my own LRGB data look very promising.
