runway77 Posted July 25, 2020 Share Posted July 25, 2020 a focal reducer moves the focal point further inwards. Using focal reducers on fast newtonians doesn't make sense. What you need is actually a Barlow lens to move the focal point further away from the focuser. However, the best solution is to use a low profile focuser so you can reach focus without a Barlow lens.
