EQ6 Tripod for Vixen Shinx mount.

Could anyone advise me if you can mount a Vixen Sphinx with half pillar extension onto a EQ6 tripod?

The Hal 130 aluminium tripod I have is too wobbly for my scope and photography use, so I am thinking of having a steel 2 inch legged tripod for AP and using the really light Alu tripod for grab and go.
