Question for the experts

What is the best way to to get an image? Using a HP Photo Smart 945 digital camera. With an eye piece in or without an eye piece just a barlow.

Is the camera hand held to the focuser, or is there a bit of a Blue Peter thing with coat hangers and duck tape to attach the camera to the scope?

First, hold the camera to the eyepiece (low power eyepieces work best) and check that its lens is capable of seeing thru an eyepiece - not all are.

Then, go in search of an afocal camera support; this one works well with larger cameras:
