Evaluate calibration

Recommended Posts

What is the best way to evaluate how successful a calibration of a light sub has been ?

I mean a flat frame obviously removes any dust bunnies and vignetting which is easy to see. But In terms of the Calibration of a light frame from a master dark frame this isn’t as obvious?

For cmos: removal of any amp glow. Otherwise removal of outlier pixels.

The same way that you can evaluate a master flat by doing flat calibration of a single flat frame, you can evaluate a master dark by doing dark calibration of a single dark frame.
