The Sun - 5th June 2020

Quick grab in between the wind / rain / hail / dodgy seeing! After a heavy rain / hail shower the wind seems to have dropped now so I might have another go with the Evostar in a minute

I hope you are ok, but I share your images with my Astronomy Club to encourage observing.

A couple of very nice discs there, looks like things are "warming" up!

Some evidence to suggest I rushed the processing of these so I went back and re-did them last night. Much happier with these

 

 

Subtle differences but worth the time spent, in my mind.

Yeah me too Charl. When I woke up at 6 this morning it was all blue sky but by the time I got myself down stairs the clouds had moved in and their is rain on the way again.

raining here too chaps but my grass needs it its a fine yellow colour 😀 i dare not look at the weather forcast for the next few days.

I think our moment has now passed.
I just beat the weather this morning and had a look see.
The three spots have divided to four and two much smaller spots had developed under.
If I had been 15 minutes later, it would have been clouded out.

Got it! Smash and grab raid before the rain, and found a couple of gaps for a few minutes. Nice, four larger areas, with the third now split in two and penumbra around it. Two little pores too and still some faculae around.

Nice one Stu, glad it was as I saw and not imagined.

Good luck to everyone else with a smash and grab, just fast scudding cloud here now and so windy.
