First Quarter Moon - 29th May 2020

Just for fun, I took some photos and videos of the first quarter moon, just a few minutes ago.

The first two photos and video were taken using my Sky-Watcher Skyliner 200P Dobsonian with the BST StarGuider ED 3.2mm EP.  So that gives a magnification of 375x.

The last three photos and video were taken with the same eyepiece, but with an el cheapo 2x Barlow, again for fun.  That's a magnification of 750!😱

The smartphone is a Samsung galaxy A20e.

Nice try. Does the 3.2mm eyepiece give you floaters? Did you hand hold or use a phone bracket?

I had a go tonight also with the Star Discovery 150p. Unfortunately a stiff breeze prevented high mag hand held phone photos but I managed these with a Moto G8+ :

25mm Celestron XCel LX

Yes, I get floaters with the 3.2mm, but I've got used to it now. It was hand held, as the smartphone holder won't fit around the eyepiece as it's too large in diameter.

Managed to take this early yesterday evening with an 8” skyliner, standard 25mm EP and iPhone 11.

That colour is absolutely amazing!😲
