Composition

Hey there,

 

I'm curious, how many people actually try any form of compositional techniques with their astrophotography? We have the rule of thirds and ratio and colour balance and weighting compositional elements in terrestrial photography. But how many people do this?

I usually place my DSO in the centre of the frame, unless for say the Horsehead Nebula where it's usually good to have it spread through the frame. Or the M81/M82 where you share them on the side of the frame etc.

 

So who else actually does any compositional elements or just places the DSO in the centre of the frame.
