Eskimo Neb - NGC 2392 - C9.25 + 350D - 2-1-2009

A lot a cloud last night , so I decided to have a quick go at the Eskimo Neb. I was suprised how small it was. In the end I used the C9.25 at F20 and the Canon 350D. It seemed a bit crazy to be trying to guide a F20 scope with an 80mm F6 one.

I did a mixture of exposures - 12 in all.

I think I should have done a lot more to reduce the noise. Out of 12 images , 4 had to rejected because of guiding errors and ended up with - 2 X 2min , 3 X 3min , 3 X 4 min.

I am thinking that using narrow band filters with the 16HR and the scope at say F10 , might be a better option. Never imaged this object before , so its trial and error.

Think you might be right there John. Even so, that's a great result you've already got.

Tony..
