Sudden RF "Bursts" on 70cm Band?

Recommended Posts

Sudden RF "Bursts" on 70cm? Just wondering if anyone one else regularly
sees these things? Often significant strength - usually around 434MHz? 🤔
Top left of waterfall! Also a "pair" of them [Bot right] at 435.5+ this time?)

Intrigued by the intensity / freq specific nature etc. Or is it just "QRM"?! 🙄

Aside: Great signal strength from certain "GD0 portable" (IOM) heard
the Welsh Coast yesterday. Beyond my normal "Line of sight" (60km)
Must have been at fair height too. Good HF/VHF propogation now? 🥳

That part of the band is the LPD433, Low Power Device 10mW max.
There are 69 25KHz channels 433.075 to 434.775.

433.920 is car door fobs.

435MHz is the start of the amateur satellite frequencies in this band.

It's possible to hear some downlinks and some beacons between 435 and 438MHz.

Aha! Just for fun, I centered the display on 433.920MHz for a while... This is
typical. The general "chatter" falls neatly within quoted frequency tolerance
for key fobs etc. 🙄 It's nice to have a (very plausible) explanation anyway! 😎
