Some very good seeing this morning...

Just had some amazing Ha views in the PST Mod this morning. I had a period of about 15 mins of really stable seeing, and the detail in the proms and spicule line was tremendous. One lovely bright prom, a couple of large faint ones and plenty of little ones too. Some of my best views for a long time. Very nice.

Checked back at lunchtime and the lovely big proms has evolved quite significantly since this morning. Seeing ok though not as good as first thing.

I observed for an hour first thing but it was only just starting to steady about 8:30 when it gets well above my neighbour's house - and then I had to start work. Hope to get back out there towards the end of the day. My view west is less obstructed.

I found that changing the tuning on the etalon also helped pull out a little more detail in the spicules which was cool.

Thanks for the heads up Stu. Looks like there’s a new active region over the limb which hopefully will continue its activity until it emerges. From Stereo satellite website
