Revelation 30mm 2" EP

Has anyone tried a Revelation 30mm 2" EP in their Sky-Watcher Skyliner 200P Dobsonian or similar?  What's your thoughts on it?  There's a sale on at Telescope House just now and the EP sells for less than £50 (exc P+P).

These used to be sold as a set...50, 42, 30, 26mm some years ago. I bought the set having just completed a 14" f/6 Newtonian, had no budget left and wanted some cheap 2" eyepieces.. I was very disappointed...the Paracorr followed shortly afterwards but made very little difference. I found the off-axis astigmatism a serious problem, the moreso because trading up introduced me to the green-and-black widefield crack cocaine of the eyepiece world to which I have been addicted ever since...

They work fine with a 6" f/10 refractor

Would tecoomend the 30mm Aero but that’s 99 quid but a very nice eyepiece.

Low cost / wide angle / well corrected across the FoV in scopes faster than F/6 = pick any two.

I've owned the Revelation / GSO super wides in 30mm, 42mm and 50mm. Fine in an F/10 but the star definition in the outer part of the field of view falls apart quickly when the scope focal ratio gets below F/8 or so.

The 32mm Panaview is better and the 30mm Aero ED better again but still have some issues. Probably liveable with though.

Hi Merlin.

I am also looking for a UWA 2" eye piece. After discussing on here I have settled on the 30mm Aero ED for the 200p.  It seems to be quite a well regarded. It is likely to be the next eye piece I purchase.

Well I've got the 42mm Revelation and I'm very pleased with it in my f8.3. I followed your link and would have bought a 26mm if they had one in stock. I wonder if the 30 would be a good addition as my next longest eyepiece is a 32mm plossl which isn't a particularly wide view.

The 26mm in that range is the weakest I think. I would go for the 30mm instead.
