EQM-35 Pro and polar alignment in southern hemisphere

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

If possible, I would like to get some insight into the equatorial mount Skywatcher EQM-35 Pro SynScan GoTo.
I am new to astronomy and I am looking for a mount that would fit both my purpose of beginner in astronomy while at the same time allow me to use it in the case I want to go a little deeper into it and start making some astrophotography. So I wonder if this mount would be a good choice.

Also, in a few months I'll be moving (back) to South America, so I wonder how difficult it would be to make a polar alignment there since the polar star will not be visible. Can the GoTo mount help in this case? Or the GoTo system itself is something unrelated to the alignment?

Any thoughts o the matter will be appreciate. Thank you very much.
