BAA webinar - Two variable star in the northern crown

This weeks British Astronomical Association weekly Wednesday webinar is on the 22nd at 7pm. 

Jeremy Shears, director of the Variable Star Section, will be talking about two variable stars in Corona Borealis (R & T), and how to observe them.

Will your presentation be at high level or something that a novice to variable stars can understand Jeremy,
not asking with any bias, just have no idea where it will be pitched?

It's entry level Alan. I'll talk about how you can do visual variable star observing with binos, small telescope or even naked eye (reference there to the recent fade of Betelgeuse).

No difficult astrophysics; just a mention of why these 2 stars vary and how amateurs can help unlock their secrets  🙂

No can do the Zoom option as banned from it via work and my machine is used for work too.
So will be the YouTube option for me.

Indeed - I enjoyed it too (a welcome break from other stuff going on!) - thanks for putting it on! As a CCD observer, not two stars I'd often/ever observe as well 👍

Glad you enjoyed it.

the vast majority of my VS observing is CCD based. But I find it’s nice to have a handful of visual targets to follow.
