M97 - The Owl Nebula

Nice clear night tonight, so had a go at the Owl Nebula with the ED80, a very small object for this scope but gave it a go anyway.

9 x 3 Min subs @ ISO800 with the 400D, ED80 on the EQ5 unguided.

Thanks Jamie, the galaxy to the left is M108, an edge-on spiral galaxy in Ursa Major.

Very nice wide field Bendan,

With samll targets and sTR's taken with DSLR's its worth croping them out and makign use of the "multi-megapixel" images before rsizing, that way you get teh widefield and a copy of the samll target which is similar to what youd expext with a modded webcam or one of the smaller astro ccd's...

From that image you'd get a nice M82 and a nice Owl Nebula

That's a great image Brendan of one my personal favourites sights in the sky. The second image looks really nice. Clearly see detail in both M97 and M108. Top job
