Good observation spots

I live in Hanley-Stoke on Trent where there's alot of light pollution, could someone recommend me a good spot for observing the night sky in the Staffordshire area?

Is mount cop in Congleton too far??? Try the met office or google earth as these sometimes give night timesatelliteimages which show light pollution, just zoom into your area and try to find the darkest area...hope this helps. Also get a dew shield to help reduce unwanted stray light, oh and there are filters available for eye pieces that block sodium and halogen light wavelengths.
