Was supposed to be in Spain last week for some combined astrophotography/skiing/socialising, (not all at the same time) but still here for obvious reasons. Oddly the sky there wasnt clear last week but was fantastic here. ... nothing short of a miracle!

Quite small target for my set up, but thought I'd give it a go. Having done mostly widefield NB stuff lately with the refractor, I switched back to the SW200 and was delighted to find the spacer set up from the frac reducer is the same as required for the coma corrector - amazing!

Have switched from Sharp cap to NINA as I cant find any easy way of dithering with Sharpcap. I'm getting to like NINA, though it does have a couple of niggly issues - just needs getting used to I guess. I'd like to do a write up just on my experiences with NINA.... and no excuse at the moment given I'm only working 1 day per week at the moment!

Anyhow, the big issue with this run is that I planned to get Lum on the last of the clear nights last week, but it was very windy so had to do a synthetic lum from combining RGB in Astropixel proeccesor.

Still not convinced I've done the best job with processing - but spent too long on it already!. I'd really like to have a more formulaic approach to processing but each target seems to have it's own particular quirks.

SW200 + CC, ASI1600MM at -20C, 63x 60s RED, 49x 60s GREEN, 56x 60s BLUE, all gain 139 offset 64, dithered, shot with NINA, processed in APP and PS. Cropped a bit.

Hope you like it - happy to receive comments. Hmmm - just notice I cropped through a star top left....  bad form, but I'm not redoing it now!

Just now, Davey-T said:

Nice one Tom, looks a bit dark on my screen, lots of faint fuzzies barely visible.

My son is in Spain complaining about four days of rain 😂

Dave

hi Dave - yeah bit dark maybe... Ive been looking at the screen too long! Maybe could lift a couple of the faint fuzzies, but tried stretching and there isn't much there to bring out. Lum would have been nice - I'll add some when we next get clear sky(!)
