I'm not sure what version I have, but this one certainly looks as though it should work:

Not sure about the latest version.

Even the "updated" Version 3.01 of fits liberator was released in 2010!

The website refers to PS version CS4 and CS5. and Windows XP !!

Is there a version that will work on Windows 10 running as a Photoshop CC plug in?

Exactly my point Dave! I recently subscribed to PS CC and thought - going to this expense surely they could have provided the facility to load FITS files. I have posted this topic on the PS community site - so far without any positive result. I'll post here if I get any info.

IIRC it should work fine. I used to use it under windows 7 and photoshop cc. Fits liberator will install the plugin automatically.

I can't find detailed instructions on how to install the Fits Liberator PS plugin. The webpage below leaves a lot to the imagination! Would you outline what you did to get the plug in "plugged in" please?

I am also struggling with this but I am not sure if the latest version is only a stand alone version and thus cannot be used as a plugin.

this is the file i used to install: https://www.spacetelescope.org/projects/fits_liberator/download_v23/

sorry i didn't mention it before because i didn't remember if used the v3 or the v23 install, but i looked  inside my old notebook hdd and found it.

the install routine will ask for the photoshop executable, plugins, scripts and actions folder, if the install path is correct it should populate the fields automatically.

I tried yesterday with CC 2019 and CC2020 and the plug-ins will not install

Hi, was it a 64 bit version of cc? Mine was photoshop cc 2014.  Fits liberator only installed a plugin for the 32 bit version. It won't install for the 64 bit.

Maybe it also stopped working on newer  photoshop versions, i gave up on it after i started to use startools to process.

Would it help to have a program to convert batchwise all available FITS files to 16 or 32 bit TIFF?  No loss of quality. Then there is no need for a plugin. All stack programs can export to TIFF or PNG so the need for Photoshop to read FITS files only exists if you want to stack with Photoshop.
