TBH, my last experience may have been atypical, as I think there was some very thin high cloud that was being lit by the moon and was making the sky very luminous.

I choose my targets carefully Dave, if it is a full moon then NB all the way, otherwise I shoot in the opposite part of the sky to the moon, works for me.
