Okay, maybe this will help? M8 in just 30 seconds with a 8" F2.9 (ultrafast) scope!

So, a faster focal ratio doesn't provide a brighter image visually, but it does provide a brighter photographic image at the same shutter speed? Is this right? Why not a brighter image visually?
