Best place to mod a canon ?

I’ve been told it’s not the ir filter I need removing its part of the cfa? Colour filter array ?? 
mom guessing the ir filter is part of the cfa?

Have a good look over the Cheap Astrophotography web site and also contact Juan, I am not sure of the what and why of 'colour filter array' ?

Juan did my 1000D  ir removed  works out about £75 inc delivery

CFA are tiny filters, R, G and B, arranged in a regular pattern over the essentially monochrome sensor.

Removing the CFA gives you a mono DSLR, but that's only a very risky DIY process AFAIK.

You probably want the LPF#2 filter removed which will give you more Ha response, but will mess up the Autofocus unless you have the sensor adjusted to compensate, maybe Juan does that as a matter of course.

Juan re-shims the sensor on all cameras after modification. You can also add a Baader filter which let's you use the camera for normal daytime photography.

I have tried to contact Juan via the website as he has a used Canon 6D which I am looking at purchasing (subj to availability and shutter count).

Juan, if you are reading this or if someone could tip him off I would be extremely grateful.
