SkyWatcher AZ-GTI or Staradventurer Pro

Recommended Posts

So now the AZ-GTI has an update that allows it to operate in equatorial mode, I assume it can do the same job as a StarAdventurer mount - i.e. mount a camera to it for wide(ish) field astrophotography.

Why would I pick one over the other?

I think that AZ-GTI is more versatile as it can:

1. Operate in alt-az mode for observing

2. Has guiding in both axis

Depends really on focal lengths that you plan to use for AP. I don't know which one is more precise though in tracking and guiding.

If you want really wide field - maybe az-eq avant + tracking motor is enough.
