October 2, 2019: SUNSPOT!!

Just got the Coronado SolarMax-II 60 mm out for a quick solar tea break, and lo and behold, an AR is showing around the four o'clock position. Off band, a few sunspots showed, and on-band several swirls of dark filaments and bright plage showed around them. A small prom was visible at the 8 o'clock position. Great to see some stuff on the surface FINALLY.

Nothing in white light at all. Seeing isn’t good though. 🙁

Michael I looked at 8am this morning. Firstly in White Light and although the websites were showing AR2749 I could not see it in my 80mm frac. I then switched to the PST + DS and I could detect some plage around this area plus a few Proms around the edges.

So hopefully AR2749 will get bigger - assuming we have some clear skies to view it.

Couldn't spot it in my Lunt SUNoculars.

I saw this spot on the morning of the 1st just clearing the edge.

Some flaring visible on the 2nd Oct.

Managed to get some CaK and Ha images, as well as the proms.
