190919 Roundtoit spring cleaning.

Stripped the whole OTA and gave it a good spring clean.
Moved the D-ERF towards the PST etalon to bring the circle of light inside the 90mm aperture.
Tried different processing approaches for a more subtle effect.

150/8 [120/10] 5% of 1000 frames ZWO120MC. Registax, PhotoFiltre.

Just noticed I have Newton's Rings. That's a first.
I had removed the tilt plates but I think it is more likely to be the D-ERF.
I'll give it a nudge tomorrow and check the results.
Some dirt on the camera sensor too.
I tried the short ZWO nose and a 1.25 IR filter.
Whoops! It could be the new filter causing the rings.

Very nice

Thanks Pete.

I am getting back to the finer detail I seem to have lost of late.
Cleaning the optics may be the answer to my problems.
I just need a bigger washing up bowl to dunk the whole OTA. :wink2:

Nicely done, I have two Quarks and only get NRs in one because it doesn't produce as bright an image and needs camera exposure / gain bumping up to get the same image which exacerbates the NRs.

Fitting filters which block more light necessitating upping camera settings can cause them

Thanks Dave.
I didn't even notice the bands until I'd posted the images.
The forum images certainly look different to my own results at home.
Yet are seen on exactly the same monitor. It's not all bad news though.
They often look better in some ways on the forum. Brighter and sharper than at home.
I'll take the new IR filter off and return to the ZWO standard [naked] filter.
It makes no [real] sense to filter for IR in H-a.
