Help - Batch removal of Filter Position in FITS header?

Recommended Posts

I have a dual setup. ZWO ASI183mm pro and ATIK 4120EX OSC.

When imaging using both cameras, the ZWO uses the filter wheel. The Atik has only a IDAS LP Filter.

When processing, the ATIK images, taken with Artemis, show the position of the filter wheel the ZWO was using at the time the ATIK OSC camera took the image. I have no idea how to stop this happening.

When processing in Pixinsight, the ATIK OSC Lights show up as Filter1, Filter2 etc. and so produce as many final Master lights instead of only one!

Apart from going through each and every Light Sub and removing the Filter Position then saving the Sub, which is very boring, Is there a BATCH method to remove the Filter position from all subs together?

Thanks

Dave.

Thanks Wim, I tried the link to the repository but it failed ,saying no updates, so I removed it as PixInsight suggested it was not verified.

I will try Geralds suggestion and rename or delete

Geralds method changed all fits header entries, it seems. Better test on copies of your images first.

Maxim can batch edit fits headers as I do it quite often when forgetting to tick flats so they all say lights which leads to confusion 😂

Dave

Would have thought you could do it in PI as a script as it's supposed to be so smart 😂

According to the link in my previous reply, it can. I haven't checked yet if there is an issue with that script.
