M42, M43 and the Running Man - reprocessed

I tried to stack the 2sec frames to pull out the trap, but the Achro wasn't able to resolve the trap stars and I only had a blob anyway. So, I decided to leave it as is and reprocessed the original stacked data. The screen on this iMac is much clearer and sharper than the PC and I think it's helped a lot. A lot more of a play around using selective processing this time out.

I have a sneaky suspicion that there is a LOT more faint data in those original subs than you think, even tweaking just the jpg version here show a lot more.

This is a incredibly smooth image.

Stars are pin points, very good for alt/az.

Did you subtract any darks for this John?

I think this is an inspiration for imagers with alt/az mounts.

Thanks very much all. Mick, yep about 5 darks for each sub length, flats and flat darks. Steve I'll have a look. I was trying to minimise the noise so might have not pulled to hard. I really need at least 10 darks at ISO1600.
