Autoguider software for SkyWatcher Allview AZ

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I own a SkyWatcher Allview AZ mount and I am trying for some time to find a suitable/working software for autoguiding. I have tried PHD2 and MetaGuide, but I have the same problem with both: I am getting an error that my mount doesn.t support Pulse Guide.

I use the newest ASCOM driver and platform, and a USB connection to my laptop - actually, I use the included Serial cable with an adaptor (Serial to USB). The connection is between the Hand Control and the laptop.

The mount has cappabilities to be slewed remotely, because I am using also Stellarium for GoTo commands.

Did anyone managed to use Allview AZ mount with an autoguider software?

Thank you in advance!

The mount doesn't have a ST4 port nor does it support pulse guiding so I doubt autoguiding would be possible. The All view  is an alt-azimuth mount so long exposure dso imaging will be limited by field rotation to about 30 seconds max, probably short enough to require guiding anyway.

EQMOD is for equatorial mounts only.

Ooops. Not used it in years - I guess the EQ bit should have triggered a memory... 🙄
