terminals cigarette socket

hello,

i have a 12v 60a rechargale battery that i bought for my telescope.

i saw on ebay this type cigarette socket that i can connect to my telescope.

my question is:for now my main purpose is to activate my eq5 goto mount,is it safe to use this device with the battery??

Personally, I would prefer ring terminals rather than uninsulated clips and either the accessory socket cable or the cable to the mount should have an in-line 5A fuse.

Cigar power connectors are OK for lighting cigars.

I've used one of these in the past without any problems.  However,  be very careful to make sure that you don't get the polarity the wrong way around.

as others have said, better to have bolted on terminals that can be insulated and always connected with correct polarity and an in-line fuse to protect the load and battery. Sure you can use something like this and you may well never have a problem, but there's always the risk that in a rush or poor light, someone catches the cables and you/they quickly clip them back on, get them on the wrong way and you've blown all your electronics.

I use them all the time

Have one which has 3 outlets, which brought at local auto shop, use to power my ZWO 290MC camera, and ZWO Air 

I also have the EQ5 pro, with a ED80

Also use my Solarmax11 on same mount
