I don't think I shall be doing anything tonight, as I need to change the rig, also I am taking a couple of ladies out for a bit of visual tonight with Binoculars.

They are actually neighbours who asked me for advice on first telescope, so they really are raw beginners.

Yes, widefield with 200mm lenses.  Narrowband with 3nm Ha.  Too much moon for other filters I think.

I think I shall do this.

I looked at the Bubble and Crab's Claw at first but I think that would be much better with the Esprit 80ED Pro scope with ST80 as second scope.  May try to sort that out this coming week.

Just re-checked CO - no green showing at the moment until Thursday morning. Ho hum. My friend has a weekend in Wales so he's checking out sites we can go to for dark sky AP with mobile rig.

It was crystal clear here an hour ago.  Now there is quite a bit of thin stuff.  Hopefully. it will clear again.

new flat panel box seems to be doing the job,

Roger

I've started using 'sky flats' they seem to give better results, for me at least.

I just want a patch of clear sky in the right place about 10.30pm to  have another look at neowise. Would like to get the scope on jupiter and saturn but they are annoyingly low.

I've uncovered the 'scope and powered up but not done anything more. Will wait another hour or so.

Edit: Keeping an eye on the Cloudwatcher, currently saying "Cloudy", graph is dropping like a stone.

I have power and cooling on the cameras but that's because I've been taking flats and flat darks.  The roof is closed and staying that way unless or until the clouds go away.  No sign of that happening yet!
