Anybody Playing Tonight?

The problem with the NEQ6 is its very awkward shape.  The EQ8 though much heavier is easier to carry because it has convenient handles.

I agree Gina. I never found the NEQ6 too heavy...but awkward to carry...very.

The Mesu is not easy to carry but easier sometimes than the NEQ6....But its heavy and fragile. The motors can be damaged if not careful. Mine is designed for Obsy use....Where as the NEQ6...chuck it in the car and drive, it will be fine  :)

Talking of putting the NEQ6 in the car. As my C11 will be laying around more often as the new RC Truss with take pride of place on the Mesu...I will soon have a mobile setup again...NEQ6 and C11....Good enough for Star Parties....Even if its a party of 1 lol.....These days.😷

Hmmm, although it looks clear up there, I can see passing cloud on looping,  So looks like a NO GO.

Cloud and a bright moon, so I'm for an early night.

Goodnight and good luck to anyone who has clear skies

Still clear in Fareham but won't be for long.  Dark library completion, I expect.

The only playing I'll be doing tonight is playing with the data I captured over this fantasticly clear spell we've just had.

Hope I got some good data

I've gone ahead and started imaging anyway.  We'll see how it goes.

There is some wispy stuff around, but not much.  It has actually improved over the last 20 minutes.  I'll be happy if I can get an hour of data.

Me too.  Still clear down here.  I just want to get some kind of idea what the Sii us like in the Veil.

Odds are it's like the clouds, thin and wispy.

What exposure time are you aiming for?

I have a couple of old subs that are labelled "SII", and the signal looks reasonably strong.  It will be interesting to see how you get on.

First indication of high level cloud now; might just get the last of the 3 I wanted to check it out

The earlier small patches are turning into cloud banks.

Still doing darks 💤

Still going, but just.

Got 40m, with one 5m sub affected by passing cloud.

I haven't processed anything yet, but the guiding has been better than usual, and the data looks good.  Lots of cloud around the Moon, but Cygnus still clear.
